Under the direct supervision of Prof. Dr. Ali Kareem Al-Juboori, Dean of the College of Nursing / University of Kerbala, our college held an attendance course on newborns care for a period of three days, for a period of 29-31/8/2021, where the first day included an introduction to the partograph as well as an introduction and important definitions about newborns and their care during the first hour It was presented by the teacher, Dr. Sajida Saadoun Alawi, Head of the Maternal and Newborn Nursing Department . As for the second day, it included how to maintain the safety and health of the newborn through how to wipe and warm it, as well as determining whether the newborn needs medical and nursing interventions through the Abkar Score scale, as well as how to perform CPR for the newborn, presented by the teacher Dr. Zaki Sabah Musaib, Head of the Basic Sciences Department . As for the third day, it included the importance of how to care for the umbilical cord of the newborn, as well as a practical application of the partograph, knowing that the target group is college students and students of the Higher Health Institute of the Holy Kerbala Health Directorate .
