Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ali Karim Khudair Al-Jubouri, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Karbala, and in cooperation with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit in the College, the Community Health Nursing Branch in the College of Nursing held today, Sunday 15/1/2023, a scientific symposium on “Extremism”, which was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ghazwan Abdul-Hussain, head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, in which he touched on extremist ideology by presenting the definition of extremism, its causes and types, in addition to spreading the culture of moderation in religious thinking and beliefs, rejecting all kinds of intellectual and ethnic extremism, spreading the spirit of tolerance and accepting the other, regardless of his religious, ethnic, national and sectarian affiliation, and spreading the spirit of Citizenship among the members of the society, establishing love for the homeland, working for its progress and elevation, and developing effective solutions to spread the spirit of tolerance and rejecting division through holding awareness and educational seminars periodically against extremism because of its impact on building the individual, family and society.
