Dr. Salman Hussein Faris Al-Kraiti, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Nursing for Scientific Affairs, participated in the scientific symposium organized by the Faculty of Engineering / Department of Parties and Industrial Supporters entitled (Non-Transitional Diseases and Means of Control).
The symposium consisted of two axes: the first was a scientific lecture by Dr. Salman Hussein Faris Al-Kureaiti entitled “Non-Transitional Diseases: Risk Factors”. He stressed that non-transitional diseases, known as chronic diseases, are not transmitted among humans and are considered to be long-lasting diseases.
His lecture included the most important factors causing this disease and its types and who are the most vulnerable to these diseases and how to resist and control.
He added that the most vulnerable to these diseases are all age groups, and these diseases are often associated with older age groups, low and middle income groups.
He also referred to the National Strategy for the Prevention and Control of Non-Transitional Diseases (2018-2022), which seeks to ensure that society is free from the burden of preventable diseases and promote healthy lifestyles, and that all members of the community can receive high quality care.
The second axis is a scientific lecture entitled (Overview of congenital malformations) by Dr. Ghassan Anwar Al-Ali, the specialty of surgery and beautification of pediatrics: he discussed through his lecture the causes of deformity of children and methods of prevention and factors affecting them, which is based on genetic genes in parents and blood difference.
