Under the patronage of the President of University of Kerbala Prof. Dr. Basem Khalil Nayel Al-Saidi, and under the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Nursing, Prof. Dr. Ali Kareem Al-Juboori, the College of Nursing held an attendance scientific symposium under the title (Suicide Causes, Motives, and Ways of Prevention). A number of teachers , postgraduate and elementary students and staff participated in the symposium. The seminar was attended by Prof. Dr. Ali Kareem Khudair Al-Juboori, Dean of the College and Head of the Psychiatric and mental health nursing department , and Assistant Professor Dr. Safi Dakhil Nawam, Head of the Fundamentals of Nursing Department . The symposium dealt with several axes, the most important of which are the factors that lead to suicide and its warning indicators, and knowledge of the impact of common suicide methods in order to develop strategies that have proven effective in preventing suicide. It is noteworthy that the symposium was held under the direct guidance of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to raise awareness of the dangers of suicide and to identify the causes and reasons for committing this crime and to find solutions to curb this dangerous phenomenon.
