At the Obstetrics and Gynecology Teaching Hospital in Karbala The Maternal and Newborn Nursing Branch at the College of Nursing holds a scientific course

Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Ali Karim Khudair Al-Jubouri, Dean of the College of Nursing, and follow-up of the teacher, Dr. Sajida Saadoun Alawi, Head of the Maternal and Newborn Nursing Branch, the branch held an in attendance course at the Maternity Teaching Hospital in Holy Karbala for the period from 25-27/10/2022, on “Caring for the mother during the postpartum period.” The head of the branch gave a lecture in it. The course dealt with several axes, the most important of which is how to take care of the mother in cases of natural or caesarean delivery. The course discussed the harms of repeated pregnancy to the mother closely, without a period of rest, and ways to care for the newborn. The course also discussed the necessity of family planning by safe means during the postpartum period. The course also addressed the importance of breastfeeding and its health effects on the child. The course was attended by a number of Nursing College students and nurses working in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital. Media of the College of Nursing
