A study at the University of Karbala discusses the relationship between health awareness and beliefs with anemia prevention behavior in pregnant women.

A master’s thesis at the College of Nursing at the University of Karbala, for the student (Rasha Hussein Aliwi), tagged “the relationship between health awareness and beliefs with anemia prevention behavior in pregnant women”, discussed a study of a high rate of anemia in underdeveloped countries, which leads to increased morbidity and mortality among mothers. and newborns.
The study aims to assess the awareness of pregnant women and their health beliefs and their relationship to preventive behavior. A descriptive and correlative study was conducted on a sample of 250 pregnant women at the Teaching Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology in the holy city of Karbala for the period from February 1 to April 5 2022, and the credibility of the questionnaire was investigated through An empirical study and presented to experts to prove its reliability and validity. Data were collected using interview techniques and analyzed by applying the descriptive and inferential statistical data analysis approach.
The thesis concluded with several recommendations and conclusions, the most important of which is a decrease in the prevalence of anemia due to women’s health awareness and health beliefs. Therefore, pregnant women need health awareness programs through social media in order to improve their preventive behavior.
The student was awarded with excellent degree, as the committee took into consideration the student’s scientific efforts and her defense of her thesis.
