Prof.Dr. Ali Karim Khadir Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Karbala University participated in the panel discussion of the master’s thesis of student “Ayat Khalil Jalil “titled “The impact of basic psychological needs on academic achievement and self-competence of nursing college students” The mission aims to learn to assess the levels of basic psychological needs, academic performance and self-competence of nursing students and to recognize the impact of basic psychological needs on students’ academic performance and self-competence. The study concluded that students’ basic psychological needs affect their levels of academic performance and self-effectiveness. Male students have a better level of satisfaction with basic psychological needs than female so supportive programs are necessary at the university about the importance of basic psychological needs, academic performance and self-efficacy to develop their level. The student received a degree of excellence and the Committee commended the researcher’s great efforts and her defense of the mission. Assistant Prof. Dr. Safi in Nawam, Head of the Nursing Fundamentals Branch of the College, is a member and supervisor of the Discussion Committee.
