The College of Nursing at the University of Karbala announced today, Wednesday, June 12, 2024, the validity of the university order regarding the establishment of a community service unit in the College of Nursing, which is structurally linked to the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies. The Dean of the College of Nursing, Professor Dr. Salman Hussein Fares Al-Guraiti, stated that a proposal to create the unit was submitted by the Council of the College of Nursing due to the urgent need for this unit to manage, plan, implement, document and follow up on all field activities carried out by the college’s members in order to serve the community. He added: The college’s members have provided many voluntary nursing, health, and social services during the past period, especially the million visits to the shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, in cooperation with the Holy Karbala Health Department and the holy shrines. It also contributed field visits to different areas to provide its various services, especially to patients infected during the Corona pandemic and its field visits. For shelters for the elderly, orphanages, schools, and other rural and remote areas in the holy city of Karbala. It continues to provide its various services to all members of society.
